About the Position: The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is recruiting for a Customer Service Representative IV, working title Educator Licensure Data Entry/Call Center Specialist, located in Hinds County, Mississippi.This is a Non-State Service NS-14 position assigned to the Division of Educator Licensure.This position is responsible for assisting prospective and practicing Mississippi public school educators with obtaining and maintaining standard certification and licensure requirements. Duties include serving as a Data Entry Specialist within the Division of Educator Licensure and assisting with customer service functions in the Educator Licensure Call Center.The incumbent will maintain current knowledge of educator licensure guidelines adopted by the State Board of Education (SBE) and the State Legislature, standardized licensure assessments required for educators, and other applicable policies and statutes.This position assists callers by providing accurate information regarding educator licensure guidelines, the licensure application process, available pathways to educator licensure, and resources for obtaining and maintaining a Mississippi educator license.Additional duties include performing document data entry for supporting materials submitted as part of licensure application packets, assisting with data analysis related to educator licensure activities, supporting special programs within the Division of Educator Licensure, and helping develop and implement procedures that improve the quality of customer service provided through the call center and written correspondence.The incumbent may also assist with planning division activities to support program goals and State Board of Education objectives, provide training and technical assistance to public school districts, nonpublic schools, state agency schools, and SBE-governed schools, and maintain collaborative relationships with MDE program offices and local school districts.Additional duties include performing related or similar work as required or assigned.
